The Council of Student Affairs is the students governing body that organizes and regulates all student activities. It is responsible for conducting various events of the Institute smoothly. It plans budgets, nominates students commitee for various events, selects club executive bodies, regulates proper functioning of the clubs and monitors all other activities through its various meetings organized fortnightly. Six Clubs have to formed under CSA such as cultural and Fine Arts, Technical, sport, Literary, Film and Photography, Adventure Activity and Community Services. Each year all the executive and associate members of the various clubs are elected through personal interview. Elected members of the clubs coordinate all the students activity under their respective clubs successfully during their tenure. For the same faculty coordinators of all clubs are already appointed by the Competent Authority and Responsibility was given to them to select the executive and associate members from students. Following executive and associate members were submitted by the club coordinator for further approval.

Creating Lasting Memories: Kickstart your journey at NIT Uttarakhand with “Utkarsh” Our Freshers' Welcome Bash, which is a lively and memorable event designed to welcome new students to the NIT family. As the academic journey comes to an end, the Cultural and Fine Arts Club bids farewell to graduating students with a grand celebration. Highlights are interactive sessions, performances and cultural showcase with a bit of emotional touch.
Dramatics and Theater: Nukkad Natak, Skit on occasions of Independence Day, Janmastami, Gandhi Jayanti, and other state or National Events as well as festivals.

Club Structure of Council of Students Activity (CSA) 2022-23
Technical Club is one of the most active societies aiming to promote and encourage technical innovation, practical experience in the modern technologies among students by organizing Workshops, Technical Seminars, Training Courses, etc. Technical Club also organizes the National Level Annual Techno-Cultural Festival ProdyoGeeky at NIT Uttarakhand. Technical Club will organize various technical competitions throughout the year related to Innovation, Robotics, Coding, Programming, Modelling, Designing, Gaming, and Quiz. It also provides a platform to the students who are very much interested in coding and innovations, ethical hacking, web development, mobile application development, etc. Technical Club also serves as the parent club to three coding clubs, SAE India Collegiate Club and Robotics Club to oversee the various activities taking place through these clubs.

The Sports club is not only committed to provide a healthy sporting habit among the students but also to educate them to live in a better way by organizing Workshop, Seminar and Special Lectures. The Sports club organizes various Intra-NIT tournament & open tournament to provide leadership and recreation opportunities to the students and faculty in order to enhance their knowledge and skill in a specific sport of interest while at the same time retaining social, cognitive and physical experiences. It helps to learn teamwork at work, coordination among diverse cultural and mainly infuses discipline and instills the value system in one individual.
Sports Club events 2022-23:
- The Sports club successfully organized the Badminton coaching camps for students, staff & faculty members from 14th to 21th August. 2022 under the guidance of Mr. Ganesh Chandra Arya (Badminton Coach).
- Organized the Intra NIT Badminton, Chess and Table Tennis tournament for students, staff & faculty members from 25th to 31th August. 2022.
- Organized the Intra NIT Five a Side tournament for students, staff & faculty members from 04th to 16th October, 2022.
- Organized the Intra NIT Volleyball tournament for students, staff & faculty members from 11th to 13th November 2022.

Students of NIT Uttarakhand jointly made efforts to establish the Literary Club (formerly called Literactivity) of the Institute. This club was established with an aim to be the nodal body for all literary activities in the Institute. It is also aimed to provide a platform to the students to enhance their literary skills, creative writing and to encourage them to display their independent thinking skills and to imbibe a sense of confidence. This club has been on- going and active club since its inception. The club organizes regular sessions on poetry recitation, debate, writing, etc. to bring out the literary talent amongst the students of the Institute. The Club is also tasked with bringing out the magazine on behalf of CSA and publish the souvenir of outgoing students annually.

5-Days workshop On Photography (15th to 19th September 2022)
Every year, Klick Film & photography Club of the Institute organizes workshop for the newly joined students. Under this workshop various indoor as well as outdoor activities are conducted where students get exposure to professional photography. The objective of workshop is to promote creativity through photography among the students, faculty members and staff of the Institute.
However due to Corona in 2020 and 2021, Worshop could not be organized but this year Photography Club organized a 5-Day workshop from 15th to 19th September 2022 in offline mode, and invited experts, Mr. Ashish Lakhera (Journalist and photographer, Editor-in-Chief Uttarakhand Live (News Portal), Ex-HoD Institute of Mass Communication), and Mr. Mahesh Painuly (Renowned photographer of Uttarakhand, Founder In-Depth Production House, CEO/Founder, Rishikesh Photography Club). Out of 70 registered participants, around 55 aspirants including students, faculty members, staff members actively participated in the workshop to educate and improve the technical skills related to photography.
Photography workshop included basic technical knowledge of Mobile photography and cameras; Nature photography; related to Ground Zero Reporting, Practical Session on Mass media, Voice over tips and techniques, News reporting and Journalism. In this regard, groups of interested aspirants along with the experts visited nearby places campus and did photowalk to Ganga Darshan for hands-On Session on the Photography skills and inculcated their love for photography.

The film and Photography club is the volunteer group of students, faculties and staff members of NIT Uttarakhand who are passionate about film and photography. The club is also named KLICK Photography club NITUK. We cover all the events, activities and memories of the Institute with our cameras. We also prepare the Official Institute calendar yearly, based on themes of the Uttarakhand region, such as Mother Nature, spirituality, culture etc. Every year, we train the UG/PG students, especially newcomers, for the handling of cameras from auto mode to pro mode in a workshop in which practical training is provided by professional experts so that attendees may explore his/her interests in this field. Uttarakhand lies in the Himalayan range with lot of opportunity for Adventurous activities. Adventure sports is the unique feature of the Institute and various adventurous activities like river rafting, skiing, camping, cycling, tracking and mountaineering are organized by the institute throughout the year with help of professional experts to the students and staffs. Himalayan expedition adventurous activities like river rafting, Ice skiing, Cycling, Tracking, Mountaineering and Camping are organized by the Institute. Institution having the facilities like river rafting, skiing, tracking, camping and cycling etc. These Sports are not only a source of ‘thrill and joy’ to participants, but also provide a valuable opportunity for developing such traits so as to prepare them for facing challenges against all odds confidently and efficiently. Adventurous activity provide a valuable opportunity to expose the youth to nature, kindling the spirit of adventure, develop personality, character, courage and confidence, to prepare the students for facing challenges against all odds confidently and efficiently.
Adventure Club events 2022-23:
- Adventure Club successfully organized the 1st Adventure Trip 2022 for 52 students of 3rd year students at Kedarnath from 02.09.2022- 04.09.2022.
- Organized the 2nd Adventure trip to Badrinath and Vashudhara for 90 studnets of 2nd year from 7th to 8th November 2022.

SAE INDIA organizes various competitions throughout the year to design and build an automobile for the future. In each competition, mainly there are two types of technical events i.e. (a) Static events like tilt test, brake test, cost report presentation, engineering design report and business presentation; (b) Dynamic events like acceleration test, skidpad, autocross and endurance test. Finally, the automobiles are judged based on their performance during static and dynamic events including technical inspection, business presentation, cost, design, endurance tests etc. NIT Uttarakhand formed an SAE India Collegiate club with 63 students for the year 2018-19 (sponsored by TEQIP-III) Objectives:
- To design various automobiles as per the competitions organized at the National level.
- To organize the short term courses/ workshops on the designing of vehicles.
- To provide a platform for the students to get industrial exposure from companies such as Tata, Maruti, Suzuki, Honda etc.
