Adventurous activitiesAdventurous activities like river rafting and ice skiing, Cycling, Tracking, Camping, Adventure week and Himalayan expedition trip organize by the Institute. Institution is having facilities require for rafting, skiing, Camping and Cycling. These Sports are not only a source of "thrill and joy" to participants, but also provide a valuable opportunity for developing such traits so as to prepare them for facing challenges against all odds confidently and efficiently. The rafting facility is a unique feature of NIT Uttarakhand. The Institute organizes the 10 km river rafting activity in Alakhanda River with the help of professional trainer every year for the 1st Year students. The amazing experience of Rafting in the Alakhanda River is something that every student and staff must experience once. Institute also provides the amazing experience of skiing at Auli. Auli is one the famous place in India for Ice activity. We provide the education, knowledge, training of ice sports activity and safety & awareness of ice environments to the students. Various adventure trip organize by the Institute at Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gwaldum, Chopta, Tungnath, Himkund Sahib and Valley of Flower etc. National Institute of Technology Uttarakhand, organized the adventure week from 19th march 2016 to 23rd march 2016 at Gwaldam with the help of SSB Academy Srinagar. The adventure trip begins with the building rescue and jungle survival demonstrations by the military officials. The activities were mountaineering, Hiking, Tracking, Rappelling, camping, commando training, Physical Training, jungle survival and rescue & bonfire etc. Adventure week is really a wonderful activity because we can enjoy a lot and learnt a lot of things which will be beneficial in our day to day life. The NIT Uttarakhand started Himalayan Expedition new adventurous activities with the help of Kumaon Regiment Rudraprayag this year. Adventure is good for the mind because it is a positive change of scenery that gives you a new perspective on exploration. Trekking is a great way to reduce the stress in your life, taking in the fresh air and nature around you while trekking is a great way to help improve your mental health, and it is believed to also improve memory and functionality of the brain. Breathing in the fresh air, as well as seeing plants and animals can also give you a better appreciation of the world and a sense of calmness and joy. Back |
