The Student Activities in different form continues throughout the year. Some activities organized by CSA are part of institute culture and ensures participations of all the students of Institute. As large number of programmes are organized, students of the institute are automatically trained in organizational skills.

Other Festival Celebration in NIT Uttarakhand

Ganesh Chaturthi

NIT Uttarakhand celebrated Ganpati Mahotsav from 29th to 31st August, 2014. Ganpati Mahotsav began with a procession of the idol of Lord Ganesha with fanatics enchanting the phrase 'Ganpati Bappa Morya' all the way. A series of cultural events were held after the Pooja and Prasad Vitran. The celebration came to an end with the immersion of idol in the Alaknanda River

Lohri Celebration

Lohri is a famous festival celebrated in North India, which marks the culmination of winter. NIT Uttarakhand celebrated Lohri on 13th January, 2015. With immense zest, students of all the four years participated in this joyous event. This festival commemorates the passing of the winter solstice. A blazing bonfire was lit to enjoy the circle of warmth. Everyone wished for prosperity and happiness by offering peanuts and til (sesame seed) in the auspicious fire. The celebration ended with a student-initiated DJ night. The celebration epitomized the sensation of love, gratitude, and spirit of brotherhood.

Janmashtami Celebration

NIT Uttarakhand graced the festive season by celebrating the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna, the day popularly known as Janmashtami, on 18th August, 2014. This festival is celebrated with immense devotion and zeal all across India on ashtami of the Krishna Paksha in the month of Bhadrapad. The celebration started with a collective dance performance by first and second year students since history marks Janmashtami celebration by a folk dance, Raasleela, where girls circumambulate around Lord Krishna's idol dancing merrily. The dance performance was followed by the DahiHandi competition which involves making human pyramid and breaking the handi filled with dahi. The team with which takes minimum time to perform this task is judged as the potential winner. Four teams representing their respective year participated in the event. The team representing third year emerged as the winner. The day followed a large number of devotees worshipping a incarnation Lord Krishna which marks the end of evil and darkness of the world.

Saraswati Puja

Saraswati Puja is celebrated in the Institute on 13th March, 2016 with traditional gaiety and religious fervour. Puja began in morning with prayers at the �pandals� and at homes. All these 'pandals' were beautifully decorated with festoons and colorful banners. Saraswati, a mythological companion of Lord Brahma, is the personification of knowledge - arts, science and crafts. In Hindu mythology, Saraswati is worshipped, the Goddess of knowledge, music, art and culture, on the Basant Panchami day. She represents power, creativity and inspiration and presents herself when the weather is pleasant and nature is in its full grandeur. It is a season of inspiration and passion. Depicted as a graceful woman with a crescent moon adorning her brow, she is shown riding a swan or a peacock, or is seated on a lotus flower. After enchanting �Aarti� after puja, sweets and �prasad� were distributed. The Puja continued for two days. On the next morning, the holy statue of Goddess Saraswati was immersed in the Alaknanda River with reverence by the mob of devotees.

Diwali Celebration

Diwali is the beautiful Indian festival of lights and happiness. Institute celeberated Diwali festival with queer love, celeberation, and adorable wishes. The campus area and Institute building was adorned with lights of colorful candles, sparkling Diyas, fragrant flowers and colourful decorated bands of papers. Col. Sukhpal Singh, Registrar of the institute, played Antakshari, sang and danced with the students. Sweets were arranged and distributed evenly among students. An amazing celeberation of Diwali at Institute instilled joy and happiness in students� life

Durga Puja Celebration

NIT Uttarakhand celebrated Durga Puja on 24th September, 2014. The event was celebrated in a grand way adhering to all the intricacies and details of the puja. The puja was followed by pushpanjali and prasad vitran, while aarti, cultural programme and Dandiya night were organized in the evening. The relentless effort and systematic planning by the students earned much deserved accolades and commendations.

Dandiya Celebration

With an immense audience and energetic performance by the participants, NIT Uttarakhand celebrated Dandiya on the 10th October, 2014. The event was open for all members of the NIT UK family. Students put up an unforgettable performance of the very own classical dance of India; Dandiya. Apart from an enthusiastic dance .the costumes of participants and traditional music attracted everyone. The performance lasted for an hour but the zeal of the audience made the event last longer with everyone participating actively in this traditional dance event.
